The 6 Best Natural Toothpaste

People have different descriptions of what they consider as natural, some say a natural toothpaste is the one that has the least amount of foaming agents, such as diethanolamine or sodium lauryl sulfate, or artificial color and sweeteners.

A medical reason to avoid Sodium lauryl sulfate was indicated by Dr. Sonya Krasilnikov of Dental House. According to her SLS caused gingival irritation and increased the occurrence of aphthous ulcers in some patients.

Some of the natural toothpaste is fluoride-free. The dentist doesn’t recommend these though, Dr. Krasilnikov considers fluoride to be the only mineral that occurs naturally and has the capability to strengthen enamel.

American Dental Association does not certify a toothpaste until it contains the required amount of fluoride.
